Hey all,
As today is my last day in the office until 5th January (!!! my longest ever festive break - suddenly I love not working in sport any more!) I might not get a chance to log on again, so just wanted to say to one and to all, a Very Merry Christmas and a truly Happy New Year. May you rest well, eat well and get to spend time with those you love.
Love and mulled wine,

There aren't really a lot of words at the moment, so I'll keep this brief.
Martin and I have split up. The engagement and wedding are off.
The last few weeks have been very difficult, meaning that this was pretty much the only option for us both at the moment, and as painful as it is, it is the right thing for now.
It was my decision though he agreed, supported and understood and it was about as amicable as it could be. We are both okay.

Now look here you lot.... as we all know, Betty Boo was truly a pop princess in the 90s. Let's face it, the chart nowadays could definitely do with a few more "Doin' the Do" type records, and you know you head straight for that dancefloor whenever you hear "Where are you baby".....
So imagine how exciting it would be if Betty made a comeback. Not just that but if she collaborated with the bassist from Blur and got Dom Joly to produce her new video.
Well imagine no longer folks, cause Wigwam are here! http://www.myspace.com/wigwamrock
This is clear brilliant news. What is not so brilliant news is that the single, "Wigwam" was released on Monday, and according to Pop justice (http://www.popjustice.com/) is currently at number 71 in the midweek charts. This surely cannot be! Betty Boo not even making the "Hit Parade" with her comeback song! Noooo!
So, come on, help her out. You *know* you want to see her on CD:UK and ToTP, and, um, other things that you watch. And stuff.
The single's only £1.99 delivered from HMV online, too: http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd uctDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=468042
They played it at the Popjustice night a couple of weeks ago and I can confirm it sounds awesome on a dancefloor.
Yours in Boomania....

I feel very strongly about this so if anyone would like to take five minutes and support my cause then it would be appreciated.
The government conducted a survey into the spread of TB and found that there was NO clear link between badgers and the spread of the infection. Last time there was a badger cull it cost tax payers £34million. Infected cattle are actually the cause of the spread of TB, so surely it makes sense to invest that money into research into how to treat and isolate infected cows? But no, the government seems intent on slaughtering thousands of innocent animals with no good reason to do so. They have at least given the public a chance to voice their disgust before they do so, so if you have a spare five minutes please drop them a letter or an email using the RSPCA's template:

Some of you may have seen the shocking and upsetting photos in The Sun this week, starting with the 6 month old dalmation puppy hanged from a tree, and many other shocking images today of terrible animal cruelty.
Whilst generally I would not support a tabloid newspaper and/or its campaigns, this is an issue I feel strongly about, especially when it comes to updating the laws concerning the punishments and consequences of being involved in harming a defenceless animal.
If you would like to put your name on The Sun's petition you can do so at: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-20 05470533,00.html
Alternatively, if you feel moved to speak out against these crimes, but do not wish to be a part of The Sun's campaign, you may wish to write to Margaret Beckett, Environment Secretary instead.
Thanks so much :)

Thank you so much to everyone who has called texted or emailed to see if Im ok. I am, though its very scary being in Central London right now. Trying to track down everyone to make sure they are ok but the phone networks are jammed. Sirens havent stopped for the past 3 hours and we have been told not to leave the building. Bosses trying to get us all into a hotel for tonight but theyre all fully booked so who knows. For now no one is allowed to go anywhere and there is talk of us sleeping in the office tonight.
To be honest thats fine with me, not sure I want to be out on the streets right now. Praying there are no secondary devices.
Thanks again for your concern - truly is appreciated.

Well its not like me to actually use this journal for anything other than "fluff" really, so here's something to break the mould.
Went to see Damian Rice last night (he was amazing - a stunning stage presence and beautiful voice), but he has just recorded a song in aid of the Action Burma campaign and they showed a video of Aung San Suu Kyi, a political leader there who has been under house arrest for ten years, just for believing in democracy and freedom - the kind of things we take for granted every single day. The video, and her story, and the footage of the people of Burma really touched me - so Im hoping it will touch you too - click here to see her story and to sign the petition to help free her.....

The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart. |
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved. |
You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring. |
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. |
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets. |
Your risk of cheating is high. You can't resist desire and lust. |
You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it. |
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily. |

Your Birthdate: August 30 |
Your birthday on the 30th day of the month shows individual self-expression is necessary for your happiness. You tend to have a good way of expressing yourself with words, certainly in a manner that is clear and understandable. You have a good chance of success in fields requiring skill with words. You can be very dramatic in your presentation and you may be a good actor or a natural mimic. You have a vivid imagination that can assist you in becoming a good writer or story-teller. Strong in your opinions, you always tend to think you are on the right side of an issue. There may be a tendency to scatter your energies and have a lot of loose ends in your work. You may have significant artistic talent and be very creative. |

Im sure it probably would actually so the title of this post is largely pointless and a little bit silly but hey - the suns out and, um, thats about the only excuse I can think of right now....
1. What does your LJ nickname mean?
People think its pronounced "kittenny" whereas it was meant to be "kit-TEN" - like a more feminine, french sounding version of kitten. Goes back to my period of online dating and the fact the tag "kitten" was always taken!
2. Elaborate on your icon photo.
Its Paris with her new dog Bambi. Bambi is the cutest thing ever and I love Paris.
3. Did you lie about your age anywhere on the net?
Nope
4. How many LJ friends do you have?
Umm..... about 15 or 20 I think
5. What is your current status?
Very much in a relationship
6. What are you wearing right now?
Black boat neck 3/4 sleeve top, black just below knee length flowy skirt, black mary jane shoes and a sparkly blue and green lizard brooch
7. What is life to you?
What you make it. It can be an amazing experience start to finish, or it can be more up and down, or it can be pretty miserable at times but ultimately you are in control and if you dont like something, get up and take action!
8. What is love to you?
Trust, acceptance and not losing that sparkle
9. What kind of people do you hate most?
Narrow minded people who arent prepared to see things in any way but their own. Selfish people who don't pay the rent arent too high up on my list right now either
10. What type of people do you like most?
Open minded, easy going, and genuine. People who Im happy being "myself" around
11. What makes you happy?
The boyf, shopping, fashion, gym classes, glossy magazines, music videos, biscuits, pink things, lipgloss, sunshine, days off, fresh flowers, proper coffee, cooking, dancing, being with friends, dreaming of winning Pop Idol
12. Are you musically-inclined?
I like to think I can sing ok
13. What would you do if you woke up one morning and found out that the person you love most didn’t exist, or was killed?
Id try and hold it together but fail miserably and feel devastated, lost and lonely
14. If you could go back in time and change ONE thing, what would you do?
Saved more money when I had it
15. If you MUST be an animal for ONE day, what will you be?
A cat - lots of sleeping, being allowed to be aloof and plenty of attention
16. Ever had a near-death experience?
Not really - I wouldnt like to insult people who have been there by lumping anything Ive been through with their experiences. There are so many people out there who've had it harder than I'll ever know
17. Name ONE obvious personality quality you have.
Friendliness/open ness
18. What’s the name of the song that’s stuck in your head right now?
Didnt have one but I thought about it for about 6 seconds before "Wake me Up" by Girls Aloud appeared
19. Are you happy today?
Well its a gorgeous morning, work is busy ish and Im not too tired, so pretty good combo all in all
20. Who will cut and paste this next?
Hmm...... nekofairy666......
love and sunflower seeds

Today appears to be my lucky day.... we all decided to have a flutter on some horses at Aintree today as opposed to the Grand National which is a complete lottery. We all signed up to a betting website which was offering free £25 bet to first time betters, and I put mine on a horse called Like A Butterfly as I love butterflies..... such a girl thing I know..... £25 on the nose at 4-1..... and it won :) So Im going home £100 richer tonight! Not bad for a Friday really. I think my plan is put £50 towards paying off a bit of credit card and then spend £50 on a treat.... High St Kensington tomorrow then :)
Been a pretty good week. Last weekend was good - went to Arsenal on Saturday to witness a 4-1 win over Norwich whicc was actually quite dull, but a good day out nonetheless - Ive never been to the hospitality at Highbury. Went to a comedy club in the evening which was superb, The Chuckle Club at LSE if anyone fancies trying it - 5 acts, 4 of which were superb. Went with Leigh and Laura before they jetted off on their hols. They brought us aaaaamazing chocs back from Belgium (Belgian chocs really are the best...), yum yum. Sunday went over to Mark and Antonet's for a pub lunch in the sunshine - first time we've eaten outside this year! Bring on Summer! We then had a monopoly tournament which was fab - Id forgotten what a fun game it is - went on for at least 3 hours with us all wheeling, dealing and trying to rip each other off over a few bottles of wine - very pleasant I have to say.
This week has been pretty straight forward.... the saga continues at home.... quelle surprise....
New gym classes launched this week which Ive been getting into. Done Body Pump 53 twice now - a couple of wicked tracks but some awful ones too. Still a fab workout. New Body Combat is so much harder - love it. Doing the new RPM this weekend so that almost completes the set.
Went to see Mamma Mia on Tuesday night (finally.... its only been running for 6 years!) with some work friends of the boys. They were a lovely couple and we had a yummy Chinese in Soho before seeing the show which was fab and really good fun. It would be perfect to see before a big night out - all the Abba classics are in there!
This weekend going to see Maria Full of Grace tonight which should be good, then tomorrow a nice girlie day - lie in, shopping, nail appointment then over to my best girly mate's from school for a night in with her, her 2 year old daughter and a litter of 4 week old kittens...... supercute!
Have fab weekends all round.....
